The Milwaukee Center is a mixed use building complex comprising of the Wyndham Hotel, the Pabst Theater, the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, and a 28 story office high rise.  Built in 1988, The Milwaukee Center contains 370,000 Square Feet of rentable class "A" office space.

The Challenge:

The Milwaukee Center is a 28 story high rise in downtown Milwaukee with an aging access control system.  The challenge that Kain Energy Corporation faced was replacing the old system with a new state of the art integrated card access, video badging and CCTV System with minimum interruption in building operations.  There was also the task of bringing the existing infrastructure, like door strikes and cameras back into the new I/Net Seven system platform.

Utilizing the reliability of the 7798C Viewcon KEC was able to communicate with 15 Security Control Units (SCU) and 22 MircoRegulators (MR) to control everything needed for a secure building with minimal down time.  Wireless technology was used in the eight (8) main elevators cabs for access control.  All control and status points where brought back to the central office of the Milwaukee center and the guard station.  KEC was able to use fiber optic technology to bring information from the 30th floor down to the guard station where all of the video can be viewed.  The client was set up to print its own badges with photos and imbedded data on them for another layer of security.  All cameras are run back to a DVR to keep a recording of people in the building and elevator cab occupancy.

The Bottom Line:

With the heighten concern of security today, KEC was able to step in and deliver an affordable solution for our client and their tenants.  The Milwaukee Center staff can add and delete card holders, print new badges, and view live and recorded video from the I/Net Seven software.  Additional doors and controls can be added as tenants are added or expanded.  With having the I/Net Seven software already installed, temperature control can be added without the need for additional software for a fully intergrated system.
